Hi — extra email this week because this email isn’t for everyone. If you’re new to AI and the curiosity bug has bit you — yeah, this could be for you. If you’re excited about building things using AI that you previously could only imagine, you’re definitely in the right place. If you’ve heard me say that AI is like the jetpack you never knew you’d be able to use and you want to experience it for yourself — let’s go. If not, no worries — this will be here when you’re ready. (But you should join my August 6 webinar anyway.)
For those still with me: I’m going to make it really easy for you to start building your own AI tools and workflows. I’m thrilled to introduce you to The Build.
The Build is — ultimately — a cookbook. Six recipes, each $150 (plus a free intro course) that you follow step-by-step to use Claude Code to create a real comms tool or workflow that you own. And I mean actual, working things — not a PowerPoint deck or a one-sheet. Something that actually helps you do your work. There’s a LinkedIn post generator, a clip analyzer, and more — you can check them all out here. Today, though, I want to focus on the Media Researcher.
The Media Researcher isn’t an app you build. It’s a way to train Claude Code to help you find reporters, podcasters, and substackers that you’ll need to know. It tracks your relationships with them so you never forget what they want to hear from you about and what they don’t. It takes your pitch and compares it to what it knows about these reporters and tells you where to start and how to approach the person. It makes Claude smarter about you.
But again, it’s not for everyone. It’s not a prompt — it’s a collection of more than 40, and some of them are going to get Claude Code to ask you a bunch of follow up questions. It’s $150 and it’s going to take you six to eight hours to set up, maybe more — and that time investment is by design — Claude will be asking you questions that will make you think about the work you do so it can learn from you. And also, as you walk through the Media Researcher and the other courses, you’ll not just be building the tools I’ve outlined for you. You’ll be learning how to build in Claude Code.
That’s the trade: you get in the kitchen with my cookbook, and the more recipes you make, the better you get at this.
Ready to start? The Build is available starting today. Start with The First Build if you’re new to Claude Code — it’s free — or jump right into the Media Researcher or another course if you think you’re ready for more.
Need a little push? Come to my webinar next on August 6. I’ll be walking you through The First Build live -- we’ll make something together in real time.
Want me to build the Media Researcher for you or your team? That’s an option, too — just reply to this note.
Let’s get building.
Dan
